We decided to treat them all in one session using one single shot of anaesthesia.
Under magnification and rubber dam isolation we have carefully removed cavities and old filling preserving healthy tooth tissue.
During amalgam (silver and mercury) filling removal it is very important to use the rubber dam in order to avoid any contamination with the small mercury particles. Rubber dam (the latex sheet around the teeth) is also very important while restoring teeth with composite restorations because proper isolation from blood and saliva is really important in order to achieve long term prognosis of the treatment. The composite filling procedure involves adhesion of the materials to the tooth structures, so this is why moisture contamination needs to be avoided.
In our clinic composite restorations are performed artistically to rebuild a natural appearance of the teeth.
