Successful removal of a retentive wisdom tooth located near the mandibular nerve

The patient went to the clinic complaining of intermittent pain in the lower jaw area on the right. During the diagnostic process, an impacted tooth of wisdom was discovered.

Initial clinical situation: tooth 4.8 is located completely under the gum

CBCT: the axis of the tooth 4.8 is tilted towards the neighboring tooth 4.7, the tooth has three roots, one of which is mace-shaped, the other has a bend of 90 degrees. The roots are located in the immediate vicinity of the mandibular nerve .

Treatment: under local anesthesia, an operation of atraumatic tooth extraction 4.8 was performed with preliminary separation of the tooth into parts. Sutures have been applied. There is no paresthesia (loss of sensitivity) in the lower lip area.
After 14 days, the sutures are removed.
