The patient came to us with complaints of muscle pain. A comprehensive diagnostic assessment revealed significant muscle instability caused by a lack of proper support from the posterior teeth.
Using condylography data, we conducted test bites to precisely determine the physiological position of the lower jaw and fabricate a custom splint. During splint therapy, the patient’s symptoms completely disappeared, confirming the accuracy of the chosen jaw position.
To ensure the effectiveness of the treatment, a follow-up CT scan was performed, which verified the correct positioning of the temporomandibular joints.
The next step is prosthetic rehabilitation, aimed at the long-term restoration of both function and aesthetics of the dental arches.
