Pre-treatment Analysis:
- Pain during chewing on the right side
- Clicking accompanied by pain
- Tenderness on palpation of the right TMJ
- Mandibular deviation to the right (misalignment of the midlines)
- Incorrect occlusal contacts (premature or interfering tooth contacts)
Treatment Provided:
- Condylography was performed to determine the therapeutic (optimal for the joint) mandibular position.
- A positioning splint was fabricated and fitted to the lower jaw, ensuring joint and muscle relief as well as occlusal normalization.
Results of Splint Therapy:
- Elimination of pain syndrome and joint clicking
- Painless TMJ palpation
- Normalization of mandibular position and midline alignment
